Classroom Organization :) 01/18/13

This week I was able to spend some quality time in a Kindergarten classroom.  I was so impressed with the way the classroom is set up, and even more impressed with the organization of the teacher!!  The materials are well organized and easily accessible for the students, and it makes cleaning up and keeping things orderly a breeze!

The teacher has purchased little green organizers and has them at each of the 4 tables.  Each of these organizers holds three cups of crayons, a cup of colored pencils and regular lead pencils, two bottles of glue, and a 5 or 6 scissors.

This organization method not only keeps their tables and cubbies neat and clean, but it also allows the students the opportunity of learning how to share.

Around the classroom you will also find bins of toys, and learning activities tucked neatly away in built in shelves.  The teacher keeps her materials in file-folders and filing cabinets for optimal space and organization.  Also, each student is given a cubby with two slots, one for their coat and backpack, and the other for their papers and homework.  At the end of the day the kids put on their coats and put all of their papers into their back packs.

An organized classroom makes for a productive learning environment! :)
